C&K Trucking Adds New Terminal Location in Columbus, Ohio

Posted May 25, 2023

Columbus is the largest city in Ohio today and just as big a player in intermodal transportation.

According to regional information, Columbus is within a one-day drive to 48 percent of headquarter operations in the country and 151 million people. Cargo travels through Columbus via the Rickenbacker International Airport and Norfolk Southern and CSX rail providers, making the new C&K Trucking location a strategic location for a new terminal.

C&K Trucking now takes its place within the Columbus intermodal community with its new location at 4005 Fisher Road. The manager there will be Gina England-Johnson, who is new to C&K Trucking but an experienced veteran with more than 20 years of industry experience. Gina is also no stranger to the rigors of opening a terminal in a new market. She did the same for her previous employer by opening their Cincinnati terminal.

When she learned about the opportunity at C&K Trucking, she researched the company, including the company’s operations, treatment of owner-operators, and customer base. She was impressed with what she found.

“The employee retention was pretty impressive,” she said. “I was confident it would be a good place to work, and I would be able to grow as a leader and manager,” she said.  Consequently, Gina has immediate and long-term plans for the terminal.

“The intermodal industry keeps you on your toes and teaches you something new every day,” she said. “One of the toughest challenges opening a terminal is getting the word out that it’s there. Beyond that, one of my main goals will be to achieve driver stability to run as efficiently and properly as possible.”

The Columbus terminal will offer intermodal drayage for the Columbus rails throughout the surrounding states. Plans are also in place to add depot services in the near future.

Welcome to Columbus, C&K Trucking!
