C&K Trucking Opens New Terminal in Detroit

Posted July 26, 2024

Detroit is known for automotive manufacturing and the Motown sound, but to C&K Trucking, the city is now known as the site of its newest terminal. The new terminal will facilitate drayage operations from the ports and all area rail lines, including CSX, CN, Canadian Pacific Railway, and Norfolk Suffolk.

C&K Trucking is launching its terminal within the Oasis Trucking Center at 4195 Central Street in Detroit, less than 15 minutes from the port. The property includes ample parking space with plenty of room to grow within the next few years, which is inevitable given the thriving businesses and headquarters within a 50-mile radius.

Cody Briscoe, the recently hired terminal manager in Detroit, is leading this new venture. He is a Detroit native with a strong track record in the transportation industry.

Cody said he wasn’t originally familiar with C&K but knew the MEDLOG parent company, MSC, whose logo he sees regularly on the jersey of his favorite soccer team, AC Milan. His previous employer had an operation similar in size to C&K Trucking, but C&K Trucking offered a new challenge and the attraction of less travel.

C&K Trucking’s onboarding process and available technology at the terminals, which provides for at-a-glance progress tracking, also impressed Cody. He is well prepared for his new role from interacting with the Cleveland terminal and other leaders at C&K Trucking. The Detroit team is forming and Cody is ready for a solid launch in August.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the challenges that go with the experience of opening a terminal,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to grow with the operation.”

His new position with the C&K Trucking Detroit terminal is one of the many changes in Cody’s life as he settles into a new house and looks forward to getting married next year. Otherwise, Cody is a big sports fan and loves a good round of golf in his leisure time.

The Detroit terminal will be open soon for business. If you require drayage in Detroit, contact us at [email protected] or 888-209-3837.
