On May 5th, C&K’s Vice President of Maintenance & Operational Finance, Chris O’Hea, presented his insights at a live virtual workshop for the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA). The event was part of the Intermodal Operations Safety & Maintenance Business Meeting. The Business Meeting is a three day conference geared towards the intermodal industry’s operational decision-makers and anyone who’s looking for transportation insights for the year to come.
This event is usually held in-person, but this year it was hosted online allowing in a much a bigger audience than years past. The agenda for this year’s event included topics such as chassis damage prevention, brake chamber innovations, and ways to avoid detention and demurrage.
Rethinking Road Service was the title of Chris’ presentation. Chris shared best practices for developing a process flow for roadside service and how to identify common pinch points. Chris also went over ways to increase the efficiency of roadside service calls including improving documentation and reporting. Having Chris presenting at the event allowed for C&K to share crucial information learned over the past year with the rest of the intermodal industry.
